About

As Shriners everything we do is driven by a singular belief: together we can positively impact the lives of those around us. We work within ourselves and our families, and our surrounding communities to improve ourselves and the world around us. The Shrine Bowl of Nebraska is a natural extension of those efforts and deeply held beliefs. By promoting the best high school athletic talent from around Nebraska and donating the proceeds of the bowl game event to the Shriners Hospital for Children, we are working within our state to inspire and support the future of our communities, our children.

Support the children. Change the world.

History

The Nebraska Shrine Bowl, Inc. was formed May 13, 1958 to conduct an annual All-Star Football Game for graduating high school seniors in the State of Nebraska. The three Nebraska Shrine temples, Sesostris Lincoln, Tangier Omaha and Tehama Hastings joined together to form the Shrine Bowl of Nebraska, Inc. Some thirty Nebraska Shriner’s, including Governor Victor Anderson, filed non-profit Articles of Incorporation with the Secretary of State to form The Nebraska Shrine Bowl, Inc. Official representatives from the three Nebraska Shrine Temples were Cliff Hunt of Tehama, Hastings, NE; Bob Russell of Sesostris, Lincoln, NE and E.E. (Blue) Howell of Tangier, Omaha, NE.
